Handcrafted in the Spanish Tradition

The modern classical guitar owes much of its form and voice to the Spanish makers of the nineteenth century, particularly Antonio de Torres Jurado. His lightly built soundboards, fan bracing, proportions, and methods of construction helped establish principles that continue to influence classical guitar makers today.

Hermann Hauser I later brought his own extraordinary precision to this tradition, producing instruments that helped carry the Spanish guitar into the modern concert era.

At James Fields Guitars, these traditions are not merely historical references. They remain visible in the way all of my instruments are built. The spirit of the Spanish Tradition is the one constant that guides my design and workmanship.
